Usually, this doesn’t happen. Even highly successful international programs don’t always start at the top of the service’s ratings because some countries have a tendency to give preference to one series over another, regardless of how well-liked it is. In contrast to the original, which took some time to really get viral, Squid Game has a clean sweep. But not Wednesday, not Stranger Things, and not any other program.
We are now awaiting the audience size. I never thought Squid Game season two would surpass season 1’s record of 2.2 billion hours watched, but given how well it started, I don’t think I can write it off.
The remainder of the show will air in season three of the following year, however the show ends in the middle of the games. The plotlines that have been put up don’t go anywhere, and it ends a little abruptly—possibly too much of a setup for season 3. I therefore fully comprehend the criticism.
In my opinion, Squid Game season two will still generate significantly higher revenue in its first week than season one, but what about over time? Does it have the same level of success as the first one? This record-breaking debut couldn’t have begun any better, but that hasn’t been decided yet. We are now awaiting the audience size. Squid Game season 2 is highly anticipated but because of the long gap of almost 3 years between season 1 and 2nd, there is a chance of disconnect in terms of how it is received. My view after watching season 2 is that it is different but definitely worth watching and of course season finale to be coming in late 2025 leaves a lots of expectations.
